Hike, swim, explore and feel the myth come alive.
This is the kind of day where you forget what time it is.
Perfect for nature lovers, hikers, mythology fans, and anyone craving fresh mountain.
We leave Thessaloniki at 09:30 AM and head towards the legendary Mount Olympus – the highest and most mythical mountain in Greece. After about 90 minutes, we stop for a quick stretching break at the stunning Orlias Gorge, where our hiking route begins.
We’ll take a shaded, well-marked trail through the forest for about one hour of gentle uphill hiking. Our destination? The spectacular Red Rock Waterfall, standing over 20 meters high and flowing into a deep, crystal-clear pool – perfect for a fresh mountain swim.
We’ll spend about 30–40 minutes here to swim, relax, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful mountain vibe.
After hiking back down the same path, we’ll reach the van and enjoy a snack break with local treats, fresh fruit, and salad – all included.

Now it’s decision time:
Option A – The Explorer’s Path
We visit the traditional village of Litochoro, the main gateway to Mount Olympus. There we stop at the Olympus Information Center – a small, well-designed museum packed with fascinating facts about the mountain’s geology, mythology, flora, fauna, and history.
From there, we head deep into the forest to about 1,000 meters altitude, where we hike for approx. 1.5 hours in the Enipeas Gorge. Along the way, we’ll visit:
The ruins of Saint Dionysios Monastery, bombed during WWII and now being restored
The hermitage cave where Saint Dionysios lived, with a natural spring of holy water
Stunning views, bridges, and waterfalls hidden in the gorge
After our hike, we stop at a cozy mountain refuge with breathtaking views over the peaks and the Aegean Sea. You can relax, grab a coffee, beer, or fresh juice – or enjoy a casual mountain meal (optional, not included).
Option B – Chill by the Sea
If you’re in a slower mood, we can skip the second hike and instead head to the beach village of Gritsa, near Litochoro. There, we’ll hang out at a laid-back beach bar right on the shore – perfect for cocktails, lounging, and sea breeze time.
Next door, there’s a cozy refuge-style taverna offering home-cooked Greek meals, ideal for a relaxed lunch with sea views (optional, not included).
Cost: €50 per person
(includes transportation, local snacks, and a great vibe)
Your guide will be with you the whole way making sure everything flows smoothly, answering questions, and sharing local tips. More like a friend than a formal tour leader.
Around 5:30–6:00 PM, we begin the drive back to Thessaloniki, full of mountain energy, sea breeze, and unforgettable images from the day.
What to bring:
Small hiking backpack, hat, sunscreen, swimsuit, towel, flip-flops, good hiking shoes, a refillable water bottle.
We’ll find fresh spring water on the mountain pure, cold, and delicious.
And of course… your good mood!
